AuDHD can involve a complex mix of autistic and ADHD traits that do not always pull in the same direction. You may crave stimulation and need calm, want structure and resist routine, seek connection and need substantial recovery, or hyperfocus deeply while struggling to start everyday tasks.
Our AuDHD courses for adults are designed to help you understand those patterns in a more useful way — and turn that understanding into support and strategies that fit your actual life.
SensoryOverload combines science + lived experience through practical, structured learning for neurodivergent adults. Instead of treating autism and ADHD as two separate checklists, the courses explore how they can interact, amplify each other, conflict with each other, and create a profile that may feel different from either ADHD or autism alone.
🧭 Choose the kind of learning you need
You do not need to follow one prescribed route. Start with what you want to understand or change right now.
🪞 Personal Profile — explore how AuDHD shows up in your own attention, sensory needs, routines, motivation, emotions, social energy, strengths and limits
🛠️ Coping Skills & Tools — find practical ways to reduce friction around activation, overstimulation, transitions, routines, recovery and competing needs

🧠 AuDHD can be more than ADHD + autism
AuDHD is often described simply as having both ADHD and autism. That is technically useful, but it does not always capture what the combination can feel like in everyday life.
The interaction between autistic and ADHD traits can create tensions that are difficult to understand if you look at each neurotype separately.
Across the courses, you can explore areas such as:
⚡ Stimulation & overload — craving novelty or input while also becoming overwhelmed by too much of it
🔄 Structure & flexibility — needing predictability while struggling to maintain routines or tolerate repetition
🧩 Executive functioning — difficulties with starting, switching, planning, organizing and managing competing demands
🎯 Attention & hyperfocus — intense focus, shifting interests, difficulty directing attention and trouble disengaging
❤️ Emotional regulation — intensity, frustration, rejection, overwhelm and recovery
🔊 Sensory processing — sensitivity, sensory seeking, understimulation and overload
🎭 Masking & compensation — managing different expectations while trying to hide or compensate for difficulties
🪫 Energy & capacity — understanding depletion, shutdowns, burnout and why everyday demands can accumulate quickly
💬 Social life & relationships — wanting connection while managing communication demands, stimulation and recovery
The aim is not simply to decide whether a particular experience is “the ADHD part” or “the autistic part.” It is to understand how the whole pattern works for you.
🪞 Understand the interaction before choosing your tools
One of the biggest challenges with AuDHD advice is that a strategy that supports one need can sometimes clash with another.
More stimulation may help with ADHD activation but increase autistic overload. A strict routine may provide predictability but become difficult to maintain when novelty or motivation drops. Spontaneity may feel energizing in the moment but create stress when plans suddenly change.
You may need both more structure and more freedom. More stimulation and more recovery. More connection and more time alone.
Context matters. Capacity matters. Sensory load matters. Activation matters. Your individual combination matters.
That is why SensoryOverload does not focus only on “Which ADHD strategy or autism strategy should I use?” We also explore:
🔄 Which needs are competing in this situation?
⚡ Do I need more activation, less input, or both in a different form?
🧠 What is making this task difficult right now?
🪫 How much capacity do I actually have?
🛠️ What adjustment could support both sides of my profile instead of solving one problem by creating another?
The better you understand those interactions, the easier it becomes to build strategies around the way your whole system works.
🌱 From understanding to everyday life
Learning about AuDHD should make everyday life clearer, not simply give you another label or more terminology.
The courses are designed to help you recognize recurring patterns, understand why seemingly contradictory needs can coexist, identify what supports your regulation and experiment with practical adjustments.
That might mean building routines with more flexibility, choosing stimulation that helps without becoming overwhelming, planning recovery around social demands, reducing unnecessary transitions or recognizing that difficulty starting something is not the same as not wanting to do it.
The goal is not to make your ADHD side and autistic side behave more consistently.
It is less unnecessary friction and a better fit between your competing needs, your environment and the life you want to live.
